Jellyfin is a free, open-source media server that lets people share their film and TV libraries.
Tailscale and Jellyfin work on almost any device or web browser, and you can optionally download the official or other third-party Jellyfin apps like Wholphin. If you cannot find the Tailscale app in your TV app store, then you can use a laptop with HDMI cable or an external device like an Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Tailscale is a secure virtual private network that provides isolated access to network resources such as my media proxy server. This ensures zero-trust security and prevents exposure to the public internet.
Some Fire Sticks and other Android devices may not have the official apps in their Play
Stores.
If so, you will need to sideload the Tailscale and Jellyfin/Wholphin apps. You can follow this guide to do so.
Note: Amazon Fire TV Stick 'Select' and sticks older than ~2018 are not supported.
